Coastal Oregon Weather by Season

Coastal Oregon Lookout

Springtime tends to be wet with anywhere from 9-18 days of the month getting ‘significant’ precipitation. But the rain doesn’t stop anyone, spring is the second busiest season for the area and is a great time to beat the crowds of summer.

Fall can be chilly when you pair the cooling temperatures with humidity. It typically rains or snows 6-10 days per month and though fall is the slowest season for tourism it can be a great time to visit as lodging is rather affordable.

Winter is also a slow time for the coast especially since it rains for nearly half of the month, 14-18 days. Though cold, there is still plenty to see, do and enjoy as long as you dress well.

Summertime is unbeatable on the coast! With near perfect temps, not too warm not too cold, there is little precipitation to account for hence why its the most popular time to travel here.

Packing for the Oregon Coast?

When traveling to coastal Oregon you should definitely plan to bring rain gear. Even when it’s not falling from the sky, it’s easy to be splashed on boat tours, hikes and the like. Packing and dressing in layers is also key to accommodate for cooler coastal evenings over daytime temps. And as it pertains to your swimsuit, we recommend bringing a wetsuit and other appropriate gear for the chilly waters of the Pacific Ocean.
